BodyShop Direct

Features:

BodyShop Direct seamlessly interfaces with Audatex, Glassmatix, ARCS, Motex, Quoits, Pathways and Inter-est estimating systems. It also operates independently using Thatcham TTS (database of industry standard repair times) and TPS (comprehensive parts pricing system linked to TTS). The Thatcham Estimating module uses a simple "point and click" operation allowing easy selection of the damaged panels and all associated components. Opinion time, if required, can then be added simply and quickly. An unlimited number of digital photos can be attached to the estimate to record damage to support the assessment. Both can then be electronically transmitted to your work provider or engineer for assessment and authorisation.

BodyShop Direct also contains the full SSVG Q Parts catalogue. Once an estimate is created an instant comparison between OEM and SSVG aftermarket parts can be carried out in line with work provider agreements.

Benefits:

  • Produces a fully priced estimate quickly and easily using Industry approved times. Importing estimates created with Audatex, Glassmatix, Motex, Quoits, ARCS, Pathways and Inter-est eliminates the need for dual data entry and, therefore, avoiding risk of errors.
  • Visual support with the estimate helps speed up the authorisation process allowing repairs to start almost immediately by possibly eliminating the need to wait for an on-site inspection.
  • Capture photographs of non accident damage · Save time by automatically cross-referencing from OEM to SSVG Parts. Eliminate phone calls, looking up parts in catalogues, and manually adding lines to your estimate.

Features:

The Claims Logging screen captures all the relevant information from the job referral sheet supplied by your work provider. This data can then be automatically transferred to the estimate screen enabling immediate progress as soon as the car arrives at the bodyshop. A courtesy car can be allocated at this time without having to create an estimate.

Benefits:

  • Eliminates the need for dual data entry reducing the risk of errors
  • Records courtesy car details
  • Automatic estimate set up

Features:

"How do you ensure you have just the right number of courtesy cars to minimise cost and maximise utilisation? The first step is to keep track of costs and utilisation - you really cannot allow such an expensive resource to go unchecked. The next step is to take control of the costs. And the final step is to take a very firm grip on utilisation" "Kindly reprinted from Sewells Aftersales Management with the permission of EMAP Automotive".

BodyShop Direct controls and manages your fleet of courtesy or hire cars by incorporating an easy book out & book in scheduler. BodyShop Direct includes all the details of each courtesy car, running costs and bookings. The system can also cope with additional courtesy cars hired in. There is a series of summary reports including late returns, history reports, vehicle lists, vehicle status, running costs, usage, and utilisation

Benefits:

  • By using BodyShop Direct to monitor courtesy car costs and utilisation, the actions individual bodyshops need to take to minimise costs and maximise utilisation become a lot clearer:
  • Operate with fewer "owned" cars - use hire cars at times of greatest demand
  • Take action against late returns
  • Makes you totally aware of the add-on costs for excess mileage and vehicle return condition

BodyShop Direct also contains a comprehensive stock management programme from purchase order to invoice.

Benefits:

  • Improved tracking of parts orders making it possible to monitor when parts are due to be delivered in time for repair.
  • The information returned by your suppliers can be used to maintain the parts status on vehicles
  • Review parts gross profit during the repair operation

Features:

"Bodyshops, like service departments, are primarily in the business of buying and selling time. They buy time from panel beaters and painters (we'll call them 'productives' from now on), and then sell it to customers like insurance companies. Of course bodyshops sell other things too - parts, paint and materials, and sublet and sundry - but none of these sales are made without selling labour first. And sales other than labour tend to be proportionate to labour sales; the more labour a bodyshop sells, the more sales of parts, paint and materials, and sublet and sundry sales are made". "Kindly reprinted from Sewells Aftersales Management issue 2/2000 with the permission of EMAP Automotive".

"If you don't measure efficiency, how do you become more efficient?"

BodyShop Direct's Shop Floor Data Capture programme uses a barcode system to clock productives on and off jobs by department. The result is not only accurate and easy recording of time, but also on-screen vehicle and productive status reports for effective control of the repair shop. The system produces all the summary reports you require - productivity, clocking, labour recovery, efficiency by productive and re-work.

How it Works:

Each job, department and productive is issued with an individual barcode, which is then scanned into the system when work is done on that particular job. If the job has to be put on hold for some reason, e.g. awaiting parts, the job can be suspended pending parts and productives transferred to another job. Progress reports indicate the percentage of work by job, by department, and any delays to the job with the relevant reason - providing reception with vehicle progress information at the touch of a button. In addition, Shop Floor Data Capture data can be used to produce individual reports that monitor the overall efficiency of each productive and each department in the bodyshop.

Benefits:

  • Improved labour efficiency = improved bottom line profit
  • Dramatically cuts the costs and inconvenience of reception involvement in manually checking vehicle progress. Monitor the location of work and the progress of work at every stage of the repair process.
  • Shop Floor Data Capture provides precise, reliable information in the fastest possible time - live and immediately available
  • It dispenses with the need to fill in time sheets and frees managers from monitoring and calculating tasks
